In 1900 the Olio Literary Club, Tuesday Club, and Fortnightly Club petitioned for a library. On Jan. 14, 1913, The Carnegie-Schuyler Library was dedicated. The money was donated by Andrew Carnegie and the land was given by then Mayor H.N. Schuyler. The first Pana Library Board was organized in the YMCA with Capt. John W. Kitchell named president. The library and reading room were situated in the YMCA until the building was completed. The library is funded by the City of Pana and governed by the Library Board.
